Artist : Silvana Tobia-Mandereau
The products STM designs
offers are designed and made by STM designs, a designer and
manufacturer of jewelry based in San Francisco. Its chief
designer, Silvana Tobia-Mandereau, although of Lebanese descent,
was born and lived for many years in Bolivia; however, as
an adult, she attended schools of higher learning in Argentina,
Belgium and obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical
Psychology from Kyoto University in Japan. For the past 16
years, she has lived in the United States, eleven of those
years in her current home of San Francisco. Silvana has
taken full advantage of her extensive travel throughout the
globe, absorbing not only the sights and sounds of many cultures,
but also its languages. She speaks eight languages and is
currently studying her ninth language, Mandarin Chinese. Her
jewelry therefore reflects the broad exposure she has had
to many cultures, not only in its design, but also its manufacture.
She directly imports, for example, fresh-water pearls, gems,
crystals and beads from china, Japan, the South Pacific. India,
the Czech Republic and Austria and most of her designs
are assembled under her guidance in China.
STM Designs has been in
business for 11 years. The Products it offers are sold to
jewelry marts and stores throughout the United States, Canada,
Japan, Europe, Australia and South America for a period of
